About the Role
The Tax Service Manager plays a pivotal role in driving tax service sales and cross-sell efforts at an early-stage Fintech startup based in NYC. The mission is to revolutionize the way Real Estate firms and investors manage their capital through innovative Investment Management software. The role involves leading the strategic prospects' sales cycle and managing and optimizing the tax service, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations while identifying opportunities for tax efficiency.
- Client Expansion: The Tax Service Manager works closely with the Sales and CS departments to support cross-sell processes and expand existing clients.
- Strategic clients: Leads and participates in Tax service sales meetings, identifies and targets strategic prospects, and develops sales strategies to meet revenue and growth targets.
- Partnerships: Oversees relationships with existing tax partners, evaluates potential new partners, and negotiates agreements to optimize services provided to customers.
- Compliance: Identifies and mitigates tax-related risks, ensures execution of tax-related activities in accordance with laws and regulations.
- Service: Ensures accurate compliance and timely submission of returns from tax partners.
- Client Engagement: Builds and maintains strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor for tax-related matters.
- Tax Research: Stays current on tax laws, regulations, and industry trends, applying knowledge to align partners with industry standards.
- Tax knowledge: Provides guidance, mentorship, and builds the company's tax knowledge base.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or relevant certification is highly preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management, with a focus on real estate taxes.
Deal-closing and sales experience.
Proven leadership experience, including team management and development.
Exceptional client-facing capabilities with a track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships.
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Bookkeeping experience is an advantage.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in tax services.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
